Rose Kudlac

Chair

Regenerative economist, real estate expert, and collaborative problem-solver.

Rose's initial interest in the JVCLT came about as a result of her background and experience in economics and real estate, along with her attraction to co-living and the original Junction Village in Guelph. Rose has extensive experience in private lending real estate, particularly in the area of new construction, and comes from a family with a background including real estate development and construction. Significantly, Rose's expertise in Regenerative Economics has been of great value to the JVCLT. She recognizes the need to move past the limitations of our dominant economic system and instead implement a model rooted in regeneration in our approach to the housing crisis if we hope to encourage the flourishing of all life and the development of resilient, abundant communities.

Rose is passionate about working with small values-aligned teams like the JVCLT, and derives a sense of purpose from the application of her knowledge in areas like Regenerative Economics and real estate to projects like this, where she can contribute to making positive intentional changes within and beyond local contexts. Having done considerable personal development work relating to group interactions, Rose excels in collaborative endeavours. She has a unique ability to recognize the value, skills, and knowledge of other team members, and encourages them to contribute in ways that are mutually beneficial to both them and the group. Rose also has strong analytical skills, with a keen eye for detail, particularly concerning matters related to finance and governance.

In considering the future potential of the JVCLT, Rose envisions the success and spread of the CLT model as a as a means of decommodifying housing, enabling communities to truly flourish as they work towards collective wellbeing. She sees the potential of the JVCLT as a generator of abundance that flows out into the wider community, and recognizes the significant role CLTs can play in healing our relationships with the land.
