Kelly Ross

Treasurer

Realtor, architectural designer, and green home building consultant.

Housing has been a part of Kelly's professional life for over 20 years. She has worked as an architectural designer, green home building consultant, and as a licensed realtor.  She has always had an interest in alternative housing, including co-housing, tiny homes, multi-generational homes, and more. Kelly believes that the housing model we have grown accustomed to in North America is often not the ideal, and recognizes that we must think outside the box to create a variety of housing alternatives to meet demand. One of Kelly's current professional interests is assisting potential homeowners to assemble the physical, financial, and relational components needed for successful co-ownership within the confines of our existing real estate market.

Kelly believes that creating housing should go hand in hand with creating community—a strong, supportive community is critical to our collective health and well-being. She has been a leader in her own community, founding both a communal food orchard and a school parents networking and support group.

Kelly envisions the Junction Village Community Land Trust as causing a needed disruption in our housing market—creating long-term affordable housing and an entirely new entry point into the housing market. She sees the JVCLT being a catalyst to shift perspectives about our homes and the land we inhabit—to reassess our "needs" for health and happiness, to redefine our metrics of wealth and success, and to recognize our roles as stewards of the land and the future.

"I am inspired by those with the courage to question norms, to voice ideas previously unheard, and to take action without known result. And I am inspired by my children, who have taught me more than any school, book, or expert, and who continually push me to expand my heart and mind."
